Welcome to Remindly AI ("App", "Service", "we", "our", or "us"), a product of Saturncube Technologies, a company incorporated and operating in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Remindly AI mobile application (available on iOS and Android) and any associated services.
Remindly AI is an AI-powered reminder app. Its core function β turning what you write or say into a scheduled reminder β depends on sending your reminder text to an AI provider. Section 5 explains that flow in full, and the App asks for your explicit agreement before any of it happens.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
The table below summarises what we collect, how it is collected and why. Each item is explained in detail in the sections that follow.
| Data | How it is collected | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name & email | You enter it, or it is provided by Google/Apple when you choose to sign in with them | To create and secure your account |
| Reminder & chat text | You type or dictate it in the App | To create your reminders; sent to OpenAI for interpretation |
| Images & documents | You select a specific file, at the moment you choose to submit it | Read to extract reminder details; sent to OpenAI |
| Location | Read from your device only if you create a location-based reminder | To trigger arrival/departure reminders |
| Calendar events | Read from your device only if you enable calendar sync | To show events alongside reminders |
| Voice | Captured by the microphone and converted to text on your device | To let you dictate a reminder; audio is never uploaded |
| Push token | Issued automatically by Apple or Google | To deliver your reminders |
If β and only if β you create a location-based reminder, the App collects location data so it can alert you when you arrive at or leave a place you chose:
Location checks happen on your device. We use your location only to trigger the reminders you created. We do not build location profiles, do not track your movements over time, and never use or share location data for advertising.
If you never create a location-based reminder, you can decline the location permission and use every other feature of the App normally.
If you enable calendar sync and grant calendar permission, the App reads your device calendars so it can show your existing events alongside your reminders and avoid scheduling conflicts, and writes reminders you choose to add as calendar events. Calendar data is processed on your device for this purpose. We do not upload your full calendar to our servers, and calendar events are not sent to our AI provider.
When you use voice input, your speech is converted to text on your device using the operating system's built-in speech recognition. We do not record, upload or store raw audio. Only the resulting text becomes part of your reminder, and it is then treated exactly like text you typed.
Remindly AI can create a reminder from a picture or a document. If you take a photo, choose an image, or select a PDF, the App sends that file to be read so the relevant details β dates, times, names and instructions β can be extracted and turned into a reminder.
Every permission below is optional and requested only when you first use the feature that needs it. You can decline any of them, or change your mind later in your device settings, and the rest of the App will continue to work.
| Permission | Why we ask | If you decline |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | To deliver your reminders at the time you set | Reminders are created but not delivered to your device |
| Location (while in use) | To centre the map when you pick a place | You can still search for and pick a place manually |
| Location (background) | To trigger arrival/departure reminders while the App is closed | Location-based reminders will not fire; all other reminders work |
| Calendar | To show your events and add reminders to your calendar | Calendar sync is disabled; reminders stay inside the App |
| Microphone & Speech | To let you dictate a reminder instead of typing | You can type reminders as normal |
| Camera / Photos / Files | To read a photo or document and build a reminder from it | You can create reminders by typing or speaking instead |
Remindly AI's core function depends on AI, so we ask for your explicit agreement inside the App before any reminder is sent for AI processing. You can review that disclosure at any time in Settings β How AI works.
The reminder text or chat message you write, and any photo or document you choose to submit for scanning. Nothing else is sent for AI processing.
Your reminder is transmitted to our Remindly AI servers and from there to OpenAI, our AI processing provider, which interprets it and returns a structured reminder.
Only to create and manage your reminders. Under our agreement with OpenAI, your content is not used to train their models. It is never used for advertising or profiling.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis (including the GDPR for EU/UK users), we rely on the following:
| Legal Basis | How We Use It |
|---|---|
| Contractual Necessity | Creating your account and delivering the reminder service you signed up for |
| Consent | AI processing of your reminders, location access, calendar access, microphone access, and email reminder delivery β each withdrawable at any time |
| Legitimate Interest | Diagnosing crashes, maintaining security and preventing abuse |
| Legal Obligation | Responding to lawful requests and complying with applicable law |
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the processors listed below, each of which is essential to operating the App.
| Processor | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | Interpreting reminder text and scanning submitted images and documents | Reminder and chat text, and any image or document you submit for scanning (not used for model training) |
| Google Firebase | Authentication and push notification delivery | Account identifier, device push token |
| Apple (APNs) | Push notification delivery on iOS | Device push token, notification content |
| Email delivery provider | Sending reminder emails when you enable email delivery | Email address, reminder message text |
| Google Maps Platform | Map display and place search when you pick a reminder location | Search terms and approximate map coordinates |
| Legal authorities | Compliance with law, court orders or protection of rights | Only as required by the specific lawful demand |
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Active account, reminder & chat data | For as long as your account exists |
| Deleted reminders | Purged within 30 days of deletion |
| Images & documents submitted for scanning | Stored with your chat history for as long as your account exists, so you can refer back to them. Removed when you delete your account. |
| Location data | Not retained β geofence checks run on your device |
| Support correspondence | Up to 3 years |
| After account deletion | All personal data β including chat history and submitted files β deleted within 30 days, except where the law requires us to retain it |
You can delete an individual reminder at any time from within the App. Images and documents you submitted are stored as part of your AI chat history, which the App keeps so you can refer back to it; that history is removed when you delete your account. If you want specific submitted files erased without closing your account, email contact@saturncube.com and we will delete them for you.
Location, calendar, microphone, photo and notification permissions can each be revoked in your device settings at any time, without deleting your account.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights:
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@saturncube.com. We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours and respond fully within 30 days.
Despite these measures, no digital system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your device and the App updated.
